Healing Through Design
Our health centre in Bengaluru, built largely from what the city threw away, is a regional winner in the 2025 Holcim Foundation Awards for Asia Pacific.

Location: Bengaluru, JP Nagar, India
Programme: Health Centre, women-run restaurant, public space
Surface: 800m² (8,600ft²)
Circular Design, Local Materials: Noor honours landscape memory through expressive, sustainable design. A living façade made of recycled granite cools the building and filters pollution, while repurposed pinewood joinery reflects a commitment to circular construction.
Celebrating New Beginnings and Imperfections: Noor, a Kintsugi-inspired health centre, is a regenerative project embracing the Japanese art of Kintsugi, repairing brokenness with beauty, as a metaphor for healing. Initially conceived as a homeless shelter, it became a holistic health centre through a participatory process led by The Agami Project. Co-created with local women and youth, Noor fosters self-determination and turns repair into resilience.
Health as a Shared, Holistic Experience: Noor introduces a new typology of climate-resilient health infrastructure rooted in community needs. It blends medical care with women's empowerment, local enterprise, and inclusive public space, where a shaded veranda invites gathering, play, and connection.
