FAQ
What funders, partners and communities ask us most.
Common questions
Who owns the ventures?
The community does. Each venture sits inside a cooperative in which farmers hold 51% or more of the shares, so decisions and profits stay in local hands rather than ours.
How is the work financed?
Venture by venture. Each one is matched to the capital that suits its timeline, from patient and blended finance to commercial capital, public schemes and carbon-market instruments. Support is directed to a named venture inside one cluster, never to a general fund.
How long does it take?
Years, and in stages. In Balaghatta the plan runs from a proof in one cluster of ten households in the first year to more than 260 households across the Panchayat by year six.
Where do you work?
In India: the Panchayat of the Future in Balaghatta, the House of Hope in Tamil Nadu and a health centre in Bengaluru. The team works between Amsterdam, Vienna and Balaghatta.
How can we get involved?
Communities, funders, researchers, implementation partners and entrepreneurs each have a way in. Tell us who you are and what you are building, and a person will reply within a few days.
